It is possible to emulate the Index controllers on the Quest 2 using its in-built finger tracking. The quality is worse and you have to use a physical controller to move around but the feeling of touching something without holding any controller is amazing.
Requirements:
- finger tracking is already working with your Quest 2
Comparisons to other Quest to PC streaming software
AirLink
My preferred software because it's in-built into Oculus and has the best performance for me. But no finger tracking at all.
Virtual Desktop
It is paid. You need to install it on your Quest and on your PC. But it supports basic finger tracking - your finger movements are converted into Oculus Touch gestures (so you make a gun and your avatar will make a gun as if you were using your controllers).
ALVR
Free but very complicated to set up and configure. But you get the complete finger tracking.
