What is The VRCArena Project?

Back in May 2020, I was frustrated that I couldn't find accessories for my favourite avatar the Shiba Inu by Pikapetey. Every accessory was hidden in a single channel of his official Discord server. I decided to create my own website that linked directly to Discord channel messages to help people find stuff.

Since then it has evolved and grown into something more. More assets, signed up users, Patreon supporters, sponsorship deals, DMCA claims.

Ultimately the focus of the project is:

TransparencyI have nothing to hide. I don't make money from the site. It's a free project for the community.
AuthenticityI encourage real humans to post content. There are automated tools such as scraping and AI, but humans should post content themselves.
Free & Open Source*I don't make money from the site and don't plan on changing that.

* = only the frontend is open-source currently (for security reasons)
