Ah, I see you’ve arrived. Welcome to Camp Whispering Screams! What’s with the name? Don’t worry about it. It sounds scarier than it is… just don’t go out after dark.
It’s Spookality! That means it’s time for all-new, creator-made horror-themed worlds and avatars, events all month long, and a lot of rewards.
All New Worlds and Avatars
Spookality is based around a themed world and avatar jam, where creators compete for rewards and the chance to have their content featured in VRChat. You can check out the winners in the brand-new Spookality Hub: Camp Whispering Screams!
You can also see all the winners in world and avatar rows in VRChat, which will be active until November 2 at 2pm PT.
Events All Month Long
On October 16th at 2PM PT, join the VRChat Community Team as they jump into a handful of scary worlds and do their best not to scream. They will scream. I know, as I am one of them, and I am writing this. Please help me. You can watch live on Twitch!
On October 24th at 12PM PT, we’ll be showing off the top three worlds and avatars in a special ceremony on Twitch! You can watch that, again, at
Finally, on October 31st at 5PM PT, we will be having a special DJ event in VRChat at Camp Whispering Screams. The event will feature four DJs… and maybe a special guest.
Link your VRChat account and watch on either the 24th or the 31st to receive a Twitch Drop!
Likewise, attend the DJ event in VRChat for another special reward.
Many, Many Rewards
Guests who visit the Camp Whispering Screams world in VRChat on four dates will receive special camp-themed hats. Mark your calendars for the 16th, 23rd, 30th, and 31st.
Speaking of prizes, what if I told you you could earn some if you bring some flesh blood to camp this year? That’s right – Camp now has a referral program[vrch.at].
But the short version? If you refer one friend, you and your friend will get a special Thirst Killer – er, I mean water bottle. Refer three friends, and you’ll get a special Profile Decoration set featuring a spooky VRRat.
The Hype Train is Back
Folks who drop VRC+ gifts in any of the featured Spookality worlds or the Spookality Hub will trigger the Hype Train! It’s a lot easier this time – we dropped it from 50 drops needed to complete the Hype Train to 5.
What do you get? This time, a Rucksack Avatar Accessory for gifting at least 1 VRC+, as well as a Ghost Companion for completing the Hype Train.
All-new Content
The Shop in VRChat has been updated with content themed around Camp Whispering Screams! You can see the content highlighted in the video above! Available until Dec 18.
